U13-U19 Full Field

Age groups U13 through U19 play regular, 11-a-side soccer on full-size fields. Boys and girls are typically placed on separate teams. However, girls are permitted to participate on boys teams. Practices are set by the individual team coaches and take place at local schools and parks.

Player Registration:  Information on registration dates and procedures for each season will be posted to this web site. The registration fee is $85 and does not include a team uniform.

Registrants are able to request a team, coach, or player preference on the electronic registration form. Registrants not making a placement request are typically assigned to teams using school affiliation. Unless otherwise requested, returning players are rostered to their previous season's team provided they register by the "returning player deadline" advertised for that season.

Unless otherwise requested, teams are typically formed by school attended.  At the registration deadline, non-returning players that have registered on time are placed onto teams of the appropriate age and gender that have spots available. After the registration deadline, late registrants are placed onto teams based on their order of registration and the placement guidelines described above, provided there are still spots available on the appropriate teams.

Coaching:  All teams in the Olympia United Soccer Club are coached by volunteer coaches who are usually parents of one of the players. OUSC can only field as many teams as it has coaches to coach them. Our umbrella association, Thurston County Youth Soccer Association (TCYSA) provides training opportunities for all its coaches. If you would like to coach or assist with your child's team, please register as a coach through this website. You do not need to be a skilled soccer player or have intimate knowledge of the game to get started. Enthusiasm and the desire to provide guidance to our young soccer players is all that is necessary.

Practices:   Practices typically are held two to three weeks prior to each seasons start date. Each team's coach determines a team's practice schedule.  Practices are played on Olympia School District fields or city parks.

Seasons of Play:

Spring:  Games typically begin in mid-March and continue until mid-May. Games are played on Saturdays (there could be a few Sunday games). All teams participate in the Tri-County Association League.  Home games are played within Thurston County. Away games can be held outside Thurston County, (example: Shelton, Aberdeen, Elma, Montesano, Centralia, Chehalis, McCleary & Hoquiam ).  Standings are kept.  Boys High School soccer is not offered in the spring season as it overlaps with the boys' high school season.

Summer: Games typically begin in mid-June and continue until the end of July. A total of 8-10 games are usually played during this period with one or two games scheduled each week. Girls' teams play on Mondays and Wednesdays and Boys' teams play on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Games start at either 6:00 pm or 7:30 pm. Games are played against other recreational teams from Thurston County.  Summer is a for-fun season and no standings are kept.

Fall: Games typically begin in mid-September and continue until the end of October. Games are played on Saturdays (there could be a few Sunday games) All teams participate in the Thurston County Youth Soccer Association League & Tri-County Association League.
