Who Can Coach
COACHES NEEDED
Coaches for the Olympia United Soccer Club are volunteer adults and youth age 15 and older. Parents often step forward and volunteer to coach the team their child plays on. There are a few coaches within the club who do not have children playing in the club but coach because they enjoy the experience.
The Olympia United Soccer Club always has opportunities for volunteer coaches. A lack of coaches can result in interested children not having the opportunity to play. OUSC can field only as many teams as we have volunteers to coach them.
For more information on becoming a coach contact the Club Manager at olyunited@hotmail.com
How much experience is needed to coach?
Some coaches in OUSC are current or former soccer players with many years of playing and coaching experience. However, no prior soccer experience is necessary. The Club provides program specific coach training for it's Super Mod coaches (U4-U7 players). OUSC's umbrella association, TCYSA, will be working to provide coach training opportunities for coaches at older age groups.
All coaches must receive Risk Management Clearance through WSYSA. If you are going to coach a team for OUSC you need to register online through this website. When registration is open for a particular season, simply click on 'Registration' link for the program into which you wish to register. Click on the 'Volunteer' option, answer the questions, and you're done! **Note that coaches also need to complete some online training modules and submit for a background check. Coach Training Modules and Licensing
OUSC encourages all its coaches to receive coaches training and will reimburse for some of the courses.
